All of our moms have been telling us to drink milk every day. Here are a few of the reasons why we shouldn’t argue with her, and next time drink milk without her even asking:

Did you know that milk is a unique drink because there’s no other naturally occurring drink that has so many nutrients? 

Milk is known as the complete food for a reason, but here let’s tell you one more time everything that you get from a glass of milk: Proteins, fats, calcium, vitamin D, riboflavin (B2), vitamin B12, potassium, phosphorous, selenium, etc., yes, there are more. Some of these nutrients are not easily found in our diet and therefore, milk takes care of them.

Milk is good for our bones and teeth, it’s no secret but here’s the reason why. Milk is rich in calcium which we all know is important for bone health. But other than that, milk also has phosphorus, potassium, protein, and vitamin k2. Not just this milk also has nutrients that help our body to absorb calcium, like vitamin K, vitamin D, phosphorus, and magnesium because the calcium content is useless if our body isn’t able to absorb it.

Milk is a very source of protein. If you’ve taken even the slightest interest in health and fitness you know protein is the primary source to build muscles. In a cup of whole cow milk, you’ll find about 8 grams of proteins. Not just that, it also helps you lose weight. Milk is so full of nutrients that when you drink it, it keeps you feeling full for a longer time which prevents you from overeating and helps you keep the weight in check. So if you’re trying to lose weight and gain some muscles, you should definitely include milk in your diet.

Milk is a source of tryptophan, it’s an amino acid that helps in the secretion of the hormone serotonin, which is also known as a happy hormone. It reduces your stress and makes you feel better. Serotonin in turn helps in the secretion of melatonin which further calms you down and helps you sleep better. You must have heard that drinking warm milk before bed helps you sleep better, now you know why.

Over the past few decades, many researchers have found milk to be a disease fighter. Milk can help lower blood pressure and reduces the chances of stroke. It is also found that milk reduces the production of cholesterol by your liver and also helps to improve eyesight. Certain researchers have even said that milk reduces the chances of some types of cancers.
